Industry Affiliate Members

The Industry Affiliate Program (IAP), introduced in 2016, is an important mechanism for engagement with ACEMS, allowing industry collaborators to connect with ACEMS without the binding long-term contracts required for Partner Organisations.

As an IAP member, the organisation can enjoy a range of benefits: being welcomed into the ACEMS network; receiving invitations for staff to attend the ACEMS Annual Retreat and other workshops and events, for networking and professional development; an annual research planning session with ACEMS academics; and eligibility to apply for ACEMS Industry Collaboration Support Scheme (ICSS) funding for collaborative projects with ACEMS members.

Overview for 2019

  • Collaborations with our Industry Affiliate Members, as part of ACEMS’ Industry Affiliate Program, continued to strengthen.
  • ACEMS welcomed two new members to the IAP: FLEW Solutions and the Queensland Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy.
  • As testimony to the success of the Industry Affiliate Program for engagement, seven of the eight IAP memberships that were due to expire in 2019 have all been renewed, or are intending to be, until the end of the Centre. The only non-renewal was Hwashen Electronics which cited economic reasons for non-renewal.
  • Since the launch of the IAP in November 2016, the total number of IAMs involved with ACEMS has grown from five to the current total of nine registered or renewed by the end of 2019.
  • Four of the six new ICSS applications in 2019 were for collaborative industry research projects with IAMs.
